Overview#

This policy explains what information FindMe collects and how it's used. We collect only what's needed to run a trustworthy hiring platform: your name, email, and — depending on your account type — career or company details you choose to provide.

If you choose identity or employer verification, we also process documents and images needed to confirm that you are who you say you are.

What we collect#

Registration details (name, email, birthday for age verification), profile information you add during onboarding, and basic usage data to keep the platform secure and reliable.

For verification, we may collect a government-issued ID, a selfie, a business registration document, proof of authority, or other supporting documents that are necessary for the review.

Cookies and view counting#

When you visit FindMe we store a randomly generated identifier in a first-party cookie named fm_vid. It contains no name, email, or browsing history, and cannot be read by JavaScript running in your browser.

We use it for one purpose: counting how many distinct people have viewed a company profile, so a company is not shown the same visitor twice. The identifier is stored in hashed form and is never shared with the companies you view — to them, a visitor who is not signed in appears only as "Anonymous Viewer".

If you are signed in as a job seeker, companies whose profiles you view may see your name, photo, and headline in their profile-view insights. You can turn this off at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security, and you will appear to them as an anonymous viewer instead. Browsing is never restricted either way.

You can delete the fm_vid cookie at any time through your browser settings. Doing so does not affect your access to any part of the service.

Identity verification#

Verification documents are collected only when needed for account trust, fraud prevention, safety, or compliance. We collect the minimum information needed to complete the review and may ask for additional documents if the first submission is not enough to verify an account.

Government-issued IDs may be used to confirm your identity, match your profile details, and check for signs of fraud or impersonation. Selfies may be used to confirm that the person submitting the ID is the same person who owns the account. Business documents may be used to confirm that a company is real and that the reviewer is authorized to act for it.

How it's used#

To operate your account, match candidates with relevant opportunities, verify identity, prevent fraud, protect platform trust and safety, and communicate important account updates.

Verification documents are never sold and are never used for marketing or advertising purposes.

Who can access submitted documents#

Only authorized FindMe verification reviewers and staff with a legitimate need to review the submission can access uploaded verification documents.

Access is limited by role and logged for security review. We do not make verification documents publicly visible to employers, job seekers, or other users.

Security measures#

Verification documents are protected using encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access, least-privilege permissions, and audit logging.

We also monitor for suspicious access and review internal activity logs to help detect misuse, unauthorized access, or fraud.

Retention and deletion#

We keep verification documents only for as long as needed to complete the review, handle appeals or disputes, investigate fraud, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

After the retention period ends, we delete the documents or irreversibly redact them so they can no longer be used to identify you. We may keep a minimal record of the verification result, timestamps, and audit logs for security and compliance purposes.

Your controls#

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.

Some deletion requests may be limited by law, by an active fraud or security investigation, or by our need to preserve records required for legitimate business or compliance reasons.
